The OCD part of me likes that my purse is now doubly organized. My purse is a Butler Bag which already has compartments built into it. I love it but sometimes smaller items like my keys and lipstick would fall out of it if the bag tipped over. So, I decided to try out a purse organizer from Mochi Things. I absolutely love the Slim Purse Organizer. And it fits perfectly inside of my Butler Bag, so I have the best of both worlds.

When I posted this on Instagram, I got lots of great suggestions for how to deal with cutting onions!

I’m really not a fan of cooking and I have getting a personal chef as one of the top things on my wish list!

I couldn’t take how overgrown our yard was getting, so I actually tried out my hedge trimmer for the first time. It was quite satisfying although my forearms were sore for the next two days!

Just a few of the things that I’m grateful for.

I must admit that I do wear my parka inside my house. I know it’s really on that cold compared to other parts of the country, but I grew up in L.A., so I’m pretty much a weather wimp.

I am loving Amazon Prime! I have really been missing out all this time, but now I’m converted.

Finding pieces of tissue in the laundry drives me crazy!

My dog Emmett always provides such great inspiration for Art Every Day Month doodles. Above is one of his favorite pastimes. Does your dog do that, too?

And since I was drawing one of Emmett’s favorite things, I thought I’d doodle some of mine as well. Here is part one of a three part series: Reading, sunshine, nature, painting, love letters, my iPhone, hugs, and strawberries.

And part two: Drawing/writing, my hubby, my dog, my hammock, my Fluevog boots, my Anthro jacket, and a nice cuppa tea.

And part three: Yoga, smoothies, orchids, my home, laughter, friends, crafts, and cheese.

Plus since some folks have asked what I’ve been using for my Art Every Day Month doodles here are my tools of the trade: Koi Water Colors Pocket Field Sketch Box 24 colors by Sakura (jet brush comes with set) and Gelly Roll fine tip black pen also by Sakura. I draw with the pen first (it’s waterproof) then I paint with the watercolor. My sketchbook is a handmade 3″x3″ book that I bought at an art fair a few years from this artist but I haven’t seen another book like it in her shop. Happy doodling!

On 11/11/11, Teahouse Studio co-founder Stefanie Renee hosted a fun art night at the studio. We painted and doodled while the video Beckoning of the Lovely played in the background. It’s a feature film that launched on 11/11/11 and is best described as “an interactive love letter to the universe.”

And this is what happens when I wait until the end of the day to do my AEDM doodle.

I’ve been having fun with my itty bitty sketch book during the first week or so of Art Every Day Month. Here are a some of my faves so far.

By the way, putting on my yoga clothes at the start of the day worked! I made it to class in the afternoon (at least that time).

Yay! It’s November and that means Art Every Day Month is here. My dear friend Leah Piken Kolidas has been hosting this annual challenge for nine years. I participated back in 2007 and that’s actually where the first Right-Brain Business Plan® was born. I love the magic that happens when I commit to the creative practice of doing art every day for a month.

The first couple of years I experimented with lots of different mediums and had fun with that. Then in 2009 I stumbled upon a 3″x3″ journal at the Squam Art Fair and that’s been my itty bitty sketch book for AEDM since. I love that it provides me a do-able structure and keeps my doodles simple.

This year I treated myself to a new watercolor set with more colors to choose from. That makes me happy.

Getting a new fridge also makes me happy! Our other one had been on the fritz and I swear I’ve had mild food poisoning for the past week (of course my hubby just thinks I’m a hypochondriac!). Anyway, now I’m so excited about stocking up on healthy food – it’s like a blank culinary canvas! I love how doing art every day helps me document these little bits from my daily life.

I won’t be blogging every day, but I will be doing my daily doodles and posting on Instagram with the hashtag #aedm2011. BTW, today is my 1-year Instagram anniversary. I heart IG!

It’s hard to believe that today is the last day of November and the last day of my fourth time doing my pal Leah Piken Kolidas’ Art Every Day Month challenge. I’ve had fun doodling in my mini sketch book for the second year in a row. And to celebrate making it to the end, I drew a little trophy! Congrats to all the AEDMer’s out there for committing to your creativity.

Last night Emmett went on a crazy barking spree. He’s lost a lot of his hearing so he barks especially loud now.

We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving meal at my aunt’s house last night. Stuffing and cranberry sauce are my favorite dishes. Yum.

Oh, and I also stuffed myself with these delicious sweet potato galette appetizers I made. Mmmmm.

Emmett’s antics make great fodder for funny AEDM doodles. It’s either that or stay fuming after cleaning up his mess! Last year his trash can escapades made for some other silly sketches.

On Sunday my dear friend from London, Fiona, stayed over. I was thrilled to get to see her a second time this year (we met up in Seattle earlier this year).
